Ever since we are born women are usually assumed to bloom and blossom into a dainty, elegant, young women through the process of puberty. Thanks to the 'Rosie the Riveter' female revolution, women have began to question more and more of these righteous claims.
I thought about the young women who feel as though they must wear a bra to fit into society and conducted a group interview with young women in high school and college, this is how it went. (I plan on keeping all of their names confidential so I will often change colors to show difference in answers.)
Question: Do you believe not wearing a bra is more comfortable than wearing one?
Answer: Hell Yes!
Question: If people around you didn't notice, would you wear a bra less?
Question: When did you realize wearing a bra was not a mandatory accessory?
Answer: When other girls were courageous enough to state how they were going bra-less.
Answer: When I decided I didn't care.
Question: Are there any cons to not wearing a bra as often as others?
Answer: If you were too light/translucent of a shirt you could be possibly flashing everyone around you.
Answer: No support for you back if you need it.
Question: Does anyone have any alternative opinions compared to the ones professed?
Answer: I'm quite uncomfortable if I don't have [a bra] on.
Answer: I agree, I try to keep them "tucked away" if you know what I'm saying?
Answer: Wearing a wire bra isn't that comfortable however, I don't feel comfortable without it so I often wear a bralette or a sports bra instead.
Answer: Yes, sports bras and bralettes are much more comfortable.
Question: Any final thoughts on the wire bra?
Answer: A wire bra is painful after a single day. Howard Hughes made the wire bra to help women keep an unnatural "perky" shape that could cause the opposite effect in the long-run. I'll be damned if I am judged for choosing not to wear a bra.
In conclusion, I believe that although not wearing a bra is not always the most comfortable option, women should not be judge on the question "to wear a bra or to not wear a bra".
